Report: Sir Roger Carr the Frontrunner as Next BAE Chairman

BAESystemsLogoBAE Systems Plc has eyed Sir Roger Carr, chairman of British utility firm Centrica, to help lead the company as its next chairman and succeed Dick Olver, the Daily Telegraph reported Saturday.

James Quinn writes the company could wrap up its appointment Carr within the coming weeks.

BAE’s nominations committee and Nick Rose, who leads the search for Olver’s successor, have cast their support for Carr as chairman, Quinn reports.

Qinn also reports Carr will soon leave his role as president of the Confederation of British Industry.

The British government holds a golden share in BAE and must approve Carr’s appointment, according to the report.
