Splunk will integrate its operational intelligence product with Cloudera‘s open-source Hadoop software package as the companies have partnered to help enterprises move large amounts of data from one platform to another.
Splunk Hadoop Connect intends to help customers connect Splunk Enterprise to Cloudera Enterprise for bi-directional movement of data, Splunk said Thursday.
Bill Gaylord, Splunk senior vice president of business development said the companies intend for customers to use Splunk’s machine data ingestion and management platforms to deliver data to Hadoop or ingest data into Splunk from Hadoop for analysis and visualization.
Social applications developer SNAP uses Splunk Hadoop Connect for its social dating website AYI, Splunk said.
The platform is intended for SNAP to analyze customer engagement and make product decisions using data-driven approach, said Nicholas DiSanto, SNAP’s architecture team lead.
