The Transportation Department has initiated efforts to negotiate a sole-source contract with Strongbridge Corp. to support the National Center for Statistics and Analysis, an office within the department’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Strongbridge, a systems engineering, information technology services and strategic communications firm, will initially work up to 60 months on the award, which carries three option tasks, according to the Federal Business Opportunities website.
Cost for all the potential costs would be around $4 million, the posting says.
The center helps investigates crashes by collecting and analyzing data in an effort to help determine the nature, cause and injury outcomes of the accidents.
It then works to incorporate those findings into strategies and interventions that will reduce the amount and consequences of crashes.
According to the release, the center works to “continuously identify, advance and promote new technologies, systems and procedures that make information more complete, accurate, timely and accessible.”
