Unisys Concludes $7.2M Move of the National Archives to Google Apps; PV Puvvada Comments

Unisys Corp. has announced that is has completed the $7.2 million transition project for the National Archives and Records Administration’s 4,500 users to Google Apps for Government.

The National Archives employees will use the Google Apps for Government for cloud-based email communications and collaboration, Unisys said Tuesday.

“National Archives employees are now poised to take advantage of new collaboration and records management tools,” said PV Puvvada, Unisys Federal Systems civilian agencies group vice president.

Under the contract, awarded in November 2012, Unisys also provided the agency with a new records management solution, strategic communications services and training videos.

Unisys said that National Archives is the fourth agency that the company has successfully moved to Google Apps for Government.

Other agencies include the Department of Energy‘s Idaho National Laboratory, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the GSA.
