VMware and Cloudera have integrated software programs as the companies aim to provide customers a platform for storing and organizing large amounts of data from different applications.
Cloudera Enterprise’s integration with VMware vSphere intends to virtualize Apache Hadoop and utilize computer hardware to manage resources for enterprises, the companies said Wednesday.
Tim Stevens, Cloudera business and corporate development vice president, said the companies jointly performed a verification process to certify Cloudera Enterprise on vSphere.
Fausto Ibarra, VMware product management senior director, said the goal of updating vSphere with Cloudera and Hadoop is to help business clients benefit from all properties of the bundled product.
