Bechtel to Engineer, Design Natural Gas Plant’s Equipment; Jack Futcher Comments

BechtelLogoBechtel will develop equipment and marine infrastructure  proposals for a planned liquefied natural gas manufacturing plant in Canada.

Pacific NorthWest LNG intends for Bechtel’s front-end engineering and design services to help facilitate exports of liquefied natural gas, Bechtel said Thursday.

The facility is planned in an area at the District of Port Edward’s Lelu Island under the management of the Prince Rupert Port Authority.

“We have worked in Canada for more than 40 years and will apply our local knowledge to design and build the facility,” said Jack Futcher, Bechtel oil, gas and chemicals president.

Bechtel is currently involved in several LNG liquefaction development projects that include one in the U.S. and four others in Australia.
