Booz Allen DoD Cloud Project Up for Red Hat Innovation Award

booz allen hamilton logoBooz Allen Hamilton has been selected as a finalist for Red Hat‘s “Innovator of the Year” award, which acknowledges partners that use Red Hat technology to support customers.

Booz Allen used Red Hat’s Enterprise Linux, JBoss Middleware and Enterprise Virtualization to develop a private cloud for the Defense Department, Red Hat said Monday.

Six other finalists were selected for the award in different categories and Booz Allen will compete under the optimized systems category.

Finalists include Intuit from the best storage implementation category, Spin Systems in best middleware implementation, Stylmark in extensive partner ecosystem, Roche in superior alternatives, Cigna in open source architecture and Nacion Servicios in next-generation business application.

A Red Hat panel, which includes Chief Information Lee Congdon and Middleware Vice President and General Manager Craig Muzilla, selected the nominees for each category.

Red Hat’s community will vote for the winner online and CEO Jim Whitehurst will announce the winner Thursday.
