The 30-year industry veteran will oversee organizations responsible for consulting services, customer support and worldwide sales in his new position, Salesforce said Thursday.
Block said he aims to help Salesforce grow into a $10 billion company.
At Oracle, Block managed a team of 11,000 employees and helped establish a multi-billion dollar sales business unit.
Salesforce says Block also led Oracle’s transformation to a new sales framework intended to help segment industries, markets and products.
He started his career at Booz Allen Hamilton as a senior consultant for Air Force executives.
Block currently serves on the Concord Museum’s board of trustees and Carnegie Mellon University’s advisory council.
