Lockheed Martin has won a $34.2 million Foreign Military Sales contract for the additional integration of the Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile onto the Finnish Air Force’s F-18C/D aircraft.
Under the follow-up contract, the company will conduct missile tests, software development and engineering documentation, Lockheed Martin said Monday.
Lockheed will conduct flight tests at the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division in China Lake, Calif. and airworthiness tests at the NAS Patuxent River.
The second international customer for JASSM, Finland awarded the first JASSM contract in 2012.
Bob Adams, Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control international program manager of long-range strike systems, said the company is “on schedule to support the operational requirements of the Finnish Air Force's F-18 mid-life upgrade effort.”
Lockheed Martin said the US Navy and US Air Force helped secure the second JASSM contract with the Finnish Air Force.
