Ian Irving has joined Northrop Grumman as CEO of its Australian business, effective July 15.
The 25-year industry veteran was formerly managing director at government and defense consulting firm Altilus, which he founded in 2010, Northrop said Wednesday.
“His appointment will enable us to build our in-country presence and position the company for future success in Australia and the Asia Pacific region as we continue to broaden our market focus to one that is increasingly global,” said David Perry, Northrop’s corporate vice president and chief global business development officer.
Prior to Altilus, Irving served as vice president at Land Systems and as deputy CEO at Thales Australia, where he spent 12 years in leadership positions.
Before those roles, he spent 11 years at Rockwell and Boeing Australia.
In his senior management and technical roles in the Australian defense industry, he has overseen research and development as well as systems delivery and exports.
Perry said Irving brings a wide range of knowledge and experience in serving Australian clients to his new role.
