A QinetiQ subsidiary has released version eight of its Paramarine software product used to design and engineer commercial ships.
QinetiQ GRC‘s Paramarine V8 offers a probabilistic modeling tool that works to help naval architects estimate damage stability in passenger and cargo vessels, QinetiQ said Tuesday.
Version eight is designed with emergency response features intended grounded or free-floating ships and aims to help users predict incident scenarios as time elapses.
The program also works to help users examine the potential effects of tidal cycle, flooding on board and weight movements in a ship, according to the company.
QinetiQ says the number of Paramarine users has increased by more than 60 percent since the product’s release in 2011.
