A Unisys Corp. subsidiary has won a potential five-year, $109 million contract to provide information technology and computing assistance services to an Australian agency.

The Department of Immigration and Citizenship seeks to secure confidential information of citizens as well as documentation processes in its local and international offices, Unisys said Monday.

This contract extends the end-user services Unisys has provided to the department since 2007 and acquire support to manage midrange computers and storage systems.

“We are delighted to continue working with DIAC, ” said Ron Frankenfield, Unisys president of global managed services.

Unisys previously helped DIAC with programs intended to consolidate data centers, acquire end user devices and utilize applications for sharing and editing.

The company also upgraded operating systems to Microsoft Windows 7.
