Ball Aerospace and Technologies Corp. discussed its manufacturing investments and business insights with Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker as part of her nationwide listening tour .
Pritzker toured the company’s facilities in Boulder, Colo., and led discussions between government officials and industry leaders, Ball Aerospace Chief Operating Officer Rob Strain writes in a guest blog post on the Commerce Department website.
Strain says Pritzker’s visit was an opportunity for the company to highlight its collaboration with National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration on a weather satellite system.
The company designed the Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership satellite to help meteorologists predict extreme weather conditions across the globe.
Ball Aerospace also showed Pritzker a joint polar satellite system and an ozone mapping and profiling instrument the company is developing on behalf of NOAA.
