Avaya Logo_ExecutiveBizPierre-Paul Allard, a 19-year Cisco Systems veteran, has become the president for global field operations and senior vice president for worldwide sales at Avaya Holdings Corp., Bloomberg reported Wednesday.

Aaron Ricadela writes Allard joined Avaya last year after leaving Cisco, where he filled VP roles after serving as president of its Canadian division for a decade.

According to the article, Allard’s appointment comes as Tom Mitchell prepares to step down as global sales head in September.

Allard has played a role in the transformation of Avaya’s marketing strategies since he joined the company, CEO Kevin Kennedy was quoted as saying in a staff memo.

The telecommunications equipment manufacturer is gearing up for an initial public offering after submitting a revised prospectus to the Securities and Exchange Commission on May 31.
