In-Q-Tel to Help Market OpenGeo's Geospatial Tech; Eddie Pickle Comments - top government contractors - best government contracting event

GeocodingIn-Q-Tel has signed a strategic investment agreement with OpenGeo to promote the latter’s open source spatial technologies in the government market.

OpenGeo’s suite works to function as a software stack that contains components for storing, processing and publishing geospatial data, IQT said Thursday.

“We are excited about what this partnership will mean for the open source community,” said Eddie Pickle, OpenGeo CEO.

“IQT's investment further indicates the potential for using commercial open source in mission-critical government systems and applications,“ Pickle added.

The alliance aims to grow OpenGeo’s presence in the field of open source spatial technologies as the company recently secured a Series A investment from Vanedge Capital.
