Iron Mountain Inc. has purchased Archivum, a family-owned records storage firm based in Brazil, for an undisclosed sum as part of a plan to build its business in the region.
With the acquisition, Iron Mountain will take over document management of Archivum“™s more than 700 customers based in Sao Paulo and neighboring suburbs, Iron Mountain said June 24.
This includes expanded storage, access and maintenance service for some 1.3 million boxes of client files and records.
“The acquisition of Archivum aligns with our objective for growing our presence in emerging markets like Brazil,“ said William Meaney, president and CEO of Iron Mountain.
“Overall, our expanding international network not only brings us new business from locally based customers, it deepens our relationships with North American-based multinational accounts.“
Aside from keeping hardcopy documents, Archivum provides other storage options such as scanning, magnetic tape cartridge and data destruction services.
