Lockheed Delivers Air Force’s 3rd High Frequency Satcom


Lockheed Martin has delivered the US Air Force‘s third Advanced Extremely High Frequency communication satellite to Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla., SatNews reports.

The AEHF-3 will be prepared for launch aboard the United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket later on this year.

Built and completed at Lockheed’s facility in California, the AEHF-3 is designed to provide jam-resistant, secured, and robust communications for deployed warfighters.

The AEHF-3 will undergo final launch preparations and transported to the CCAFS’ Launch Complex 41 to be integrated with the Atlas V.

The AEHF-2 was launched in May 2012.
