Boeing has wrapped up a design review of its 702 Small Platform satellite and plans to move ahead to assembly, integration and test phase of two units.
The 702SP is scheduled to be launched on a Falcon 9 rocket in 2015 and is an electric-powered satellite, Boeing said Tuesday.
Boeing says it has already received a joint order for four 702SP satellites from Asia Broadcast Satellite, Bermuda and Satelites Mexicanos.
Each satellite is designed to use between three and eight kilowatts of power, Boeing says.
