Lee Vorthman_1Lee Vorthman serves as chief technology officer for federal civilian agencies at NetApp’s U.S. public sector.

He previously served as NetApp’s cyber practice lead where he was responsible for developing and supporting cybersecurity initiatives for the Defense Department, intell, healthcare, civilian and SLED markets.

Vorthman’s industry experience includes leading cyber research and development, coordinating the defense of enterprise networks and conducting offensive cyber operations.

Prior to joining NetApp, he worked at SAIC, Harris Corp. and served in the U.S. Navy as an Intelligence Analyst during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise.

As a subject matter expert, Vorthman routinely speaks at industry events related to cybersecurity.

He is a founding member and serves on the advisory board of both the Washington Cyber Roundtable and Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) Roundtable.

He is also a active member of InfraGuard and AFCEA and holds a Bachelor’s in Systems Engineering and Master’s in Operations Research from George Mason University.
