One of the two companies Science Applications International Corp. is splitting into will base its headquarters in Reston, Va., SAIC CEO John Jumper told WJLA-TV.
Jumper told anchor Morris Jones in an interview aired Sunday that the planned national security, health and engineering company named Leidos will be based in Reston, a few miles from SAIC’s current headquarters in McLean, Va.
The split, announced in August 2012, is set to complete within two months, Jumper said on “Government Matters.”
SAIC announced Monday it signed a lease with Boston Properties for office space within the Reston Town Center complex.
Nearly 150 employees will immediately occupy the space at 11951 and 11955 Freedom Drive, named One and Two Freedom Square respectively, and the company intends for another 450 to move in as renovations are completed.
Nick Wakeman of Washington Technology reports SAIC has leased and will stay at one of the office buildings in the company’s 18-acre facility, which the company sold for $85 million in May.
SAIC will be the name for the planned information technology and technical services company.
