Level 3 to Host State Govt Remote Teleconferencing Services; Edward Morche Comments

Level 3 communicationsLevel 3 Communications has won a five-year contract to host Web-based teleconferencing services for agencies and organizations in South Carolina.

A goal of the project is to give government employees remote access to their work during events such as emergencies or unsafe weather conditions, Level 3 said Wednesday.

The company aims to help users exchange and share information, as well as communicate with each other without meeting in person.

Edward Morche, Level 3’s government markets group senior vice president and general manager, said the state aims to remove time and geographic boundaries as workers collaborate on projects and make decisions.

Level 3 will also work to give agencies and offices virtual access to audio and video teleconferencing services such as secured networks and dial-in numbers.
