Lockheed Martin has launched a new product suite designed to consolidate components used for rotorcraft development programs of U.S. Army and international defense forces.
The mission equipment package is intended to help customers update military drones in line with the Joint Multi-Role/Future Vertical Lift program’s standards, Lockheed said Monday.
Three company business units collaborated to develop the MEP, which the company intends to support future airborne capability environment software and open architecture systems for upgrades.
“The JMR program offers the opportunity for the U.S. Army to leverage this investment and many others in its vertical lift program,” said Ed Whalen, Lockheed’s rotary wing capture lead.
Lockheed says it aims for the package to meet FACE-software requirements for multiple mission systems and future aviation infrastructure.
