Microsoft, Icertis Team to Offer Cloud-Based Transport Mgmt Tool; Lorenzo Madrid, Jay Banerjee Comment

Cloud EbizMicrosoft has partnered with Icertis to offer a cloud-based transportation platform under an international program that aims to help enterprises manage transportation operations.

Icertis PublicTransport Management is designed to help eliminate the need for organizations to have complex network environments, Icertis said Tuesday.

Windows Azure-based IPM aims to help cities address operational challenges and provide public services in line with new technological developments and urbanization, according to Lorenzo Madrid, Microsoft worldwide director for public sector transportation.

“The motto at Icertis has always been to apply the cloud where it matters and taking it to the public transport function has the potential of positively impacting millions of lives worldwide,” said Jay Banerjee, an Icertis general manager.

Icertis will work under Microsoft’s CityNext initiative that focuses on buildings, education, energy and water, healthcare, government administration, public safety, tourism and transportation.
