Nicholas Nesbitt has been named IBM East Africa country general manager, in charge of the company’s operations and planned expansion in the region, All Africa reports Thursday.
He succeeds Anthony Mwai, who will be promoted to serve another role in IBM’s operations in South Africa.
Prior to joining IBM, Nesbitt was the CEO and founder of Kenya-based business process outsourcing and contact center provider, KenCall.
Nestbitt has served executive roles at MarketRace, Qwest Comunications, Rhytmns NetConnections, U.S. West Communications, Square D Company and The Boston Consulting Group.
Nestbitt holds a Masters in Business Administration from Stanford University and a Masters in Engineering, Electrical Engineering from Dartmouth College.
