Raytheon logo_EbizRaytheon has won a potential $18 million contract from the Defense Threat Reduction Agency to provide border security support in the Philippines.

Work under the Cooperative Threat Reduction Integrating Contract II award will include training and integration of border security technology and techniques for the Asian country's maritime sector personnel for two base years, Raytheon said Friday.

This includes the installation of radio communications and an auto identification system and the design and construction of a National Coast Watch Center, a facility that will be tasked to consolidate data from other agencies.

“The Philippines contract extends Raytheon’s border security solutions portfolio to Southeast Asia,” said David Appel, director of surveillance, range and infrastructure solutions at Raytheon’s intelligence, information and services business.
