SAP AG will partner with a telecommunications company in the Middle East to host LTE mobile services in the region under an agreement that also covers sharing of network servers.
The joint initiative with Etisalat UAE aims to expand in the field of information technology as well as support the international market expansion of SAP Mobile Services, SAP said Sunday.
Matthew Tonkin, vice president of IPX sales for SAP Mobile Services, said the project aims to increase the availability of LTE networks within a year.
“Collaboration with Etisalat, currently the only Middle Eastern IPX provider, helps SAP reach the largest operator community in the region and globally,“ Tonkin added.
SAP Mobile Services offers global communications and marketing solutions to about 990 operators with a total of 6.1 billion subscribers from 210 nations.
Etisalat is valued at approximately $2 billion and operates in in Asia, Africa and the Middle East with about $9 billion in annual revenue.
