Alfred Grasso, MITRE CEO and president, highlighted the company’s support of a Northern Virginia Technology Council program to help veterans find civilian jobs.
The NVTC aims for its Veterans Employment Training project to help former soldiers use their skills for jobs in the information technology sector, MITRE said Monday.
“In providing an opportunity for veterans to explore different career paths, they need flexibility, particularly as they continue physical therapy during the transition period,” Grasso noted in reference to severely wounded veterans.
“Whether it means increasing their learning capacity or delivering their experience in a number of different ways, they will do what it takes to make it happen,” Grasso added.
MITRE and Monster.com are charter members of the VET initiative.
