Ball Corp. to Donate $1M to Colorado Flood Relief Efforts; John Hayes Comments

BallAerospaceLogoBall Corp. has announced that its charity will donate $1 million to support the relief efforts following the floods that impacted the state of Colorado earlier this month.

Ball’s contribution will go toward Community Food Share, Impact on Education Foundation for Boulder Valley Schools and the Foothills United Way’s Foothills Flood Relief Fund which are all working to assist with flood relief efforts, according to a company statement.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with all those impacted by the powerful floods that hit our home state of Colorado over the past two weeks,” said John Hayes, Ball chairman, president and CEO.

“Many Ball employees live and work in the areas touched by the flooding and have experienced the devastation first hand. This is our community and we’re committed to helping with recovery and rebuilding efforts both financially and by mobilizing our employee base through volunteer efforts,” he added.

The company employs 3,000 people in the Colorado area, according to Ball.

The Ball Foundation gave the Red Cross of Colorado $100,000 earlier this year to help ensure the organization can respond immediately to natural disasters.
