Bechtel Links Solar Power Station First Unit to Electrical Grid

BechtelLogo (1)Bechtel has connected the first unit of a power station the company built in California to a live power grid for generating electricity from solar energy.

The solar electric generating station is for the 377-megawatt Ivanpah thermal power plant project that will work to supply electricity to 140,000 homes every year, Bechtel said Tuesday.

Ivanpah occupies a 3,500-acre land in Mojave Desert and is the largest solar power plant in the world, according to Bechtel.
