Cisco has added new features to its video surveillance portfolio for businesses to configure and manage security cameras across the organization.
Video Surveillance Manager 7 works to connect millions of digital video cameras to a central user interface and help multiple users stream the same videos from any location, Cisco said Monday.
The suite also is designed to offer clients with analytics and metadata features powered by the Internet of Things, where devices are interconnected through a network.
Guido Jouret, a Cisco group vice president and general manager, said the company made upgrades to help businesses harness intelligence.
Cisco also designed VSM 7 to preserve videos in mobile environments where network connections are limited.
The company has also rolled out Internet Protocol cameras with a platform for developers to build applications that work to integrate with the company’s interconnectivity offerings.
