SAS w-LogoInternational energy companies are using SAS‘ data visualization software to help them analyze business data, identify consumer behavior patterns and monitor asset performance.

SAS works with more than 500 customers across the energy sector, including 160 investor-owned utilities in North America, the company said Monday.

Alyssa Farrell, SAS energy product marketing manager, said the company designed Visual Analytics for organizations to explore volumes of data and use gained insights to make decisions.

Essent Belgium NV and Austria-based OMV Solutions GmbH are among the companies who have deployed SAS’ technology.

Oil and gas companies also use the platform to manage smart grid and sensor information.

A white paper, titled “The Fast and Furious,” outlines how information technology professional guide users to perform analyses, run queries and create reports.
