Exelis has won a $5.4 million contract to provide an undisclosed, international customer with communications installation equipment and training.
The company will provide its single channel ground and airborne communications system installation kits, used for network data services and hardware and training services, Exelis announced Thursday.
Exelis will provide the fifth generation of the SINCGARS radios that are now smaller, have more integrated capability improvements and robust encryption protocol.
Nick Bobay, Exelis Night Vision and Tactical Communications Systems division president, said the contract would help the international customer enhance its existing SINCGARS radios and network for operational mission capability.
The SINCGARS radios can be used mounted, unmounted and as a manpack that provides standard command and control application for accessing the tactical internet.
According to its company statement, Exelis has sold more than 600,000 SINCGARS radios along with supporting devices to date.
