IQI logoIn-Q-Tel has injected an undisclosed amount into Portland, Oreg.-based startup business AppThwack in an effort to develop new mobile technologies, Oregon Live reported Tuesday.

Mike Rogoway writes AppThwack, launched in 2012 by former Intel employees Trent Peterson and Pawel Wojnarowicz, intends to help developers build mobile apps and test how their products perform on various mobile devices.

Peterson told the publication that AppThwack's partnership with the CIA‘s venture capital arm is intended to expand applications for further development of the company's technology.

“In these larger institutions, be they government or larger enterprises, they’re developing apps for public consumption, they’re developing apps for internal consumption and they’re moving toward maintaining their own internal app stores,” Peterson told Oregon Live.

Rogoway reports AppThwack’s customers include Symantec and code writers.

AppThwack holds $600,000 in seed funding, Oregon Live reports.
