A Northrop Grumman business unit has provided customized bridge retrofits to Stena Line for navigational systems onboard that company’s ships.
Northrop’s Sperry Marine unit installed the equipment and trained ship crews on how to use the VisionMaster FT products that are designed for the RoPax ferries, Northrop said Thursday.
Alan Dix, Sperry Marine managing director, said the business aims to help ship operators fulfill navigational requirements set by the International Maritime Organization.
Sperry Marine supplied products from the VisionMaster FT series to the Stena Superfast VII, Superfast VIII, Stena Adventurer and Stena Europe vessels.
Stena Line has a fleet of 38 vessels and operates on 22 routes around the U.K., the Baltic countries and in Scandinavia.
