Optum started to help manage the state of Idaho’s Medicaid program on Sept. 1 after winning the contract in April, KMVT-TV reported Tuesday.
Paul Johnson writes the company will manage Idaho Medicaid’s outpatient case management services, mental health services and addiction disorder services.
Richard Armstrong, Idaho Health and Welfare director, said Optum will also work to help the state create a new behavioral health system and aim to increase availability to people in rural areas.
The company’s main office for the project is located in Meridian.
