Cisco and Portugal Telecom have partnered to build up the information technology infrastructures in cities across Europe, Latin America and Africa, Silicon Angle reported Wednesday.

Anil Menon, president of Smart+Connected communities and deputy chief globalization officer at Cisco, told the publication the companies help cities and businesses build and manage services through information and communications technology.
Cisco and PT will aid municipality governments in updating Internet infrastructures with the goal of meeting security, energy and productivity requirements, Silicon Angle reports.
