An IBM subsidiary has been selected to provide its cloud computing email and email protection product suite to cloud-based information security and messaging product maker SilverSky.
SilverSky’s security services will run on SoftLayer’s cloud platform and will be distributed to IBM’s global sales channel for worldwide access to email workloads and information, IBM announced Wednesday.
SoftLayer will also provide disaster recovery services to SilverSky and aim to give the customer more exposure to IBM’s global data centers and sales and distribution channels.
“As the lifeblood of business, email represents one of the most critical applications in the cloud today,“ said Tim Harvey, SilverSky CEO.
According to IBM, SilverSky is responsible for protecting more than $535 billion in customer assets and handling more than 500 million daily security events.
