DigitalGlobe has signed a 15-year lease agreement for a new headquarters complex in Westminster, Colo. and plans to move Colorado-based employees into the new site in the summer of 2015.
The company selected Broomfield as the site of its future headquarters in September under a non-binding letter of intent and opted for Westminster after consulting with real estate adviser Cresa Denver, DigitalGlobe said Wednesday.
“Although this was an unexpected series of events, once we determined the potential of this opportunity we moved diligently and quickly to finalize a lease that secures the best interests of our company, team members, customers and shareowners,” said Jeffrey Tarr, DigitalGlobe president and CEO.
“DigitalGlobe believes this decision is a win for the state of Colorado, allowing for flexible business growth for the company and future high-tech jobs for the northern Denver corridor.”
The company is currently headquartered in Longmont and plans to maintain a presence there after moving to Westminster.
