A remote energy analytics program from FirstFuel Software has been picked to assist the U.S. General Services Administration aims of meeting energy reduction goals and efficiency concerns.
The Remote Building Analytics software is meant to help manage data coming from 400 smart meters installed in GSA’s facilities and monitor energy efficiency impact of the agency through the company’s online portal, FirstFuel said Tuesday.
“FirstFuel assists the GSA in meeting our energy efficiency and savings goals in our buildings,” said Dr. Dorothy Robyn, public buildings service commissioner at GSA.
According to FirstFuel, the wider distribution has resulted in energy savings of up to $14 million over 47 million square feet of property and 90 remote audits.
Prior to the full-scale deployment, the RBA platform was used in a 26-building pilot test last year and helped save about 85% in terms of cost or $6.5 million compared to on-site audits.
The program aided the agency with meeting audit targets at a rate of five to seven times faster and helped with achieving an annual target of two percent energy reduction.
