A General Electric division has integrated its electrical meter data management software with Oracle hardware that is intended to store information.
GE Digital Energy achieved the Oracle Exadata Optimized status under the latter’s partner network to offer customers a consolidated metering infrastructure for on-premise or cloud-based networks, GE said Wednesday.
Mike Carlson, GE Digital Energy general manager of software solutions, said the integration seeks to manage transactions from up to 100 million meters.
The alliance aims to unify GE’s Smart Metering Operations Suite and Oracle’s Exadata Database Machine, while helping customers analyze power usage and process energy data.
Oracle created an ecosystem for industry partners to develop, test and integrate applications with its storage appliance.
