IBM, ARM Ink Microprocessor Licensing Deal; Steve Ray Comments - top government contractors - best government contracting event

ComputerCodeIBM has licensed a portfolio of ARM Holdings microprocessors and intends to offer the technology to communications and networking infrastructure developers.

IBM aims for the chips to help clients build network switches, routers and base stations that work to facilitate wired and wireless communications, the company said Thursday.

Steve Ray, IBM vice president of microelectronics, said the company designs system-on-a-chip technology for mobile computing applications.

The licensing agreement covers ARM’s Cortex A7, A12, A15 and M4 processors and the Mali 450 graphic processing unit.
