Lockheed Martin has signed an agreement to help a waste conversion technology maker develop a patented technology that converts waste into renewable fuels.
Concord Blue USA aims to offer non-polluting recycling process to both business and governments, Lockheed said Monday.
The companies aim to address environmental issues such as congestion of landfills, improper waste management and climate change, as well as encourage production of green energy resources for commercial use.
“With more than seven billion people on the planet, sustainable waste disposal and a need for energy that is both secure and clean are quality of life issues,“ said Paul Klammer, Lockheed mission systems and training director of bio energy programs.
Klammer added the companies aim to help industrial customers address environmental concerns.
Concord Blue developed its waste-to-energy recycling technology to fulfill the Environmental Protection Agency's standards as well as European and international regulations on air emissions and renewable energy.
