Mutualink has launched a communications system for public safety, emergency management agencies to share multimedia data across mobile devices.
Edge is designed to be interoperable and works to help security personnel transmit and secure radio, voice, text and video files from desktop computers, iPads, laptops and smartphones, Mutualink said Tuesday.
Colin McWay, Mutualink president, said the company designed the platform to support all kinds of media, transport mechanism and device.
The technology is built with encryption and distributed architecture and uses two user-determined applications to manage collaborative sessions.
Edge also works to link mobile devices to the firm’s a response and preparedness network comprising of public and private sector organizations.
Mutualink will demonstrate the platform at an International Association of Chiefs of Police event scheduled for Oct. 19 through Oct. 23.
