Randy Davies Appointed to Postal Supplier Council Board of Advisers; Chad Wheeler Comments

MailTruckRandy Davies, CEO of VSE Corp. subsidiary Wheeler Bros., has been appointed to the Postal Supplier Council‘s board of advisers for a two-year term.

Davies has been a member of the PSC since 2006 and will work to support the council’s goal of encouraging suppliers to collaborate with postal and supplier organizations, Wheeler Bros announced Tuesday.

 The PSC Board of Advisers is composed of 85 members from 15 companies in the industry.

“We are honored to be selected for a position on the Postal Supplier Council Board of Advisers,“ said Chad Wheeler, president of WBI.

The United States Postal Service Manager of Supply Chain Management Strategies and a supplier representative serve as co-chairs of the board.

NASA Picks Luna’s RIO Laser for Navigation Doppler LiDAR

NASA has selected a Luna Innovations-built semiconductor laser for use in its Navigation Doppler LiDAR system. “To precisely measure the vehicle speed, direction, and distance, our NDL system uses both Doppler shift and laser beam travel time, which requires a highly stable single-frequency laser source,” said Farzin Amzajerdian, NDL principal investigator from NASA Langley Research Center. “The RIO laser from Luna Innovations has met NASA’s requirements for high reliability, low noise, and ultra-narrow linewidth.”


ICF Receives NASA Contract for Global Change Research Services

ICF has received a potential five-year, $33.9 million contract to help NASA administer a program that works to coordinate government agencies' studies on changes. The company will perform administrative and technical support services for the U.S. Global Change Research Program's National Coordination Office.
