The information technology firm showcased an application and solution design service and additional functionalities for service pack 7, an online-based deployment cloud infrastructure for enterprise clients, at the SAP TechEd event occurring this Monday through Friday in Las Vegas, SAP said Tuesday.
Dr. Vishal Sikka said the new SAP HANA is designed to improve user experience through design and streamline access to the system’s new functions.
The UX design service builds on the Fiori platform and brings designers and SAP customers together to help create new offerings through a “design thinking” method as well as improve user interfaces of current SAP products.
Meanwhile, SP7 for SAP HANA works to streamline customized app creation with a language-agnostic feature and access to core data services as well as pre-packaged data libraries.
The service pack’s smart data access technology integrates writing capabilities and supports Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle and Hadoop link through Hortonworks.
SP7 also includes high availability/disaster recovery support and customized data center integration platform intended to address cost issues.
Lastly, the Cloud Infrastructure is a subscription-based alternative designed to simplify delivery of SAP products from the HANA Marketplace.
Using Amazon Web Services and SAP storage, the new cloud-based framework service will offer a number of different storage options.
