The U.S. Army will test DRS Technologies‘ on-board vehicle power system as part of the branch’s series of field exercises to evaluate network technology
DRS’ OBVP works to produce power for command, control, communications, computer and other sensors that are in battlefield vehicles, DRS said Thursday.
“All fielded C4ISR equipment needs power, from soldier radios to brigade servers. The constant access to power is vital to maintain connectivity, ” said Mike Sarrica, DRS Network and Imaging Systems group president.
DRS will provide two of its concept vehicles for the Network Integration Evaluation, both of which are repurposed from Navistar’s MaxxPro Mine Resistant Ambush Proof vehicle.
