Bae-systems-logo_ExecutiveBiz1An F-35 team of BAE Systems has won a regional manufacturing award for its work to transition into a new manufacturing environment that pulses aircraft sets through the production line, the Lancashire Telegraph reported Wednesday.

According to the newspaper, the Technology Operating Practices and Processes award recognizes companies that develop new production practices.

“The past few years have seen the team move from a more traditional manufacturing environment to a state-of-the-art pulse system where aircraft sets are pulsed through the production line through a series of stations, ” a BAE spokesman said, the report noted.

As the regional award recipient, the BAE team will qualify for the national finals in London in January 2014.
