Valerie Underhill serves as chief financial officer at MTSI where she manages the finance, accounting and contracts departments and is responsible for the company’s overall financial health and “shepherding” its long-term growth.
MTSI credits Underhill with helping form two joint ventures, instituting new accounting system policies and procedures and executing the second majority-owned ESOP tranche since joining the company in 2012.
The more than 30-year government contracting veteran previously spent 21 years with litigation support and records management contractor LABAT, most recently managing all financial and operational segments as chief operating officer and CFO.
A certified public accountant, Underhill also led the company’s proposal development and gate reviews, and led the due diligence and integration for the closing of three acquisitions and the sale of LABAT.
Underhill earned a master’s degree in business administration and master’s certificate in government contracting from the George Washington University after graduating with honors from the University of Virginia with a degree in accounting.
She is a member of the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute Certified Public Accountants.
