IBM has introduced a new set of predictive analytics and cognitive computing platforms aimed at helping enterprises identify and overcome big data management challenges.
SmartCloud Analytics – Predictive Insights technology works to help users examine terabytes of business data in real time and anticipate the performance of information technology systems, IBM said Monday.
The company built the software to operate on its SoftLayer cloud computing infrastructure.
“As the value of data continues to grow, the differentiator for clients will be around predicting what could happen to help transform their business with speed and conviction,” said Steve Mills, senior vice president and group executive of IBM’s software and systems business.
IBM expanded its BLU Acceleration suite to include technologies designed to support in-memory database and business analytics in the cloud.
The firm also launched a range of tools for customers to visualize data from multiple sources and control access to confidential information in Hadoop platforms.
