IBM has opened a new facility at its complex in Austin, Texas to connect designers, product managers and developers for the company’s work on enterprise-grade platforms.
The software design studio provides an environment where professionals can collaborate on big data, mobile, cloud computing, security, cognitive computing and social technology, IBM said Wednesday.
“It is the home of IBM design thinking, a broad, ambitious new approach to re-imagining how we design our products and solutions,“ said Phil Gilbert, general manager of IBM Design.
“Quite simply, our goal is to modernize enterprise software for today’s user who demands great design everywhere, at home and at work,” Gilbert added.
The firm holds week-long training programs in the studio and partners with universities across the country to recruit software designers to work for the company.
